Why autism assessment fees vary
Different services use different staffing models, tools and appointment structures. Cost can reflect clinical interview time, developmental history, informant work, observation, scoring, case discussion, report preparation and feedback.
The Focused Care Psychology UK fee
The current fee for an autism assessment is £1,250. This should not be interpreted as purchasing a diagnosis; the clinical conclusion depends on the evidence.
Compare scope, not just price
Ask what happens if childhood information is unavailable, how masking is considered, whether co-occurring ADHD or mental-health needs can be identified, whether the report is included and what follow-up is available.
Check the purpose of the report
If you need a report for a specific NHS pathway, education process, workplace issue or another professional, ask that receiving organisation about its requirements before paying. No private provider can promise universal acceptance.
A clear report is part of the value
A useful report explains the evidence, conclusion, limitations and practical recommendations in language that the person and other professionals can understand.
Common questions
How much is an autism assessment with Focused Care Psychology UK?
The current listed fee is £1,250.
Does paying privately guarantee an autism diagnosis?
No. A diagnostic assessment must be able to conclude that autism is not supported when the evidence points elsewhere.
Can I use the report with the NHS?
You can share it, but the receiving NHS service decides how it uses private evidence within its own pathway.
