Emotional regulation and overwhelm
Understanding triggers, recovery, rejection sensitivity, shutdown, frustration, anxiety and patterns of emotional overload.
Private online psychological therapy for adults, young people and parents with ADHD, autism or combined neurodevelopmental profiles. Sessions are available across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland where remote work is clinically appropriate.
Online therapy is £110 per session. A free consultation can be used first if you are unsure whether this service is the right fit.

The aim is not to make a neurodivergent person appear less neurodivergent. It is to understand what is creating difficulty and develop practical, psychologically informed ways forward.
Understanding triggers, recovery, rejection sensitivity, shutdown, frustration, anxiety and patterns of emotional overload.
Working with activation, planning, time, routines, prioritisation and the gap between knowing what to do and being able to start it.
Making sense of long-term compensatory strategies, energy demands, self-criticism and the changes that can follow a diagnosis or late recognition.
Exploring patterns in family life, partnerships, work and social situations without assuming that one communication style is automatically the problem.
Supporting families to understand behaviour in context, reduce repeated conflict and create routines or expectations that are more realistic for the child or young person.
Turning an ADHD, autism or combined assessment into practical changes rather than leaving the report as the end of the process.
Video therapy can reduce travel demands and make it easier to attend regularly, particularly for clients balancing work, study, caring responsibilities, fatigue or sensory needs. NHS England also recognises video and other digital delivery as established ways of providing talking therapies, although Focused Care Psychology is a separate private service.
Remote delivery can also make it easier to discuss strategies in the environment where they will actually be used. For some clients, joining from a familiar space reduces the extra social and sensory load associated with travelling to a clinic.
We consider privacy, risk, age, communication needs, access to a suitable device and whether remote sessions can safely support the goals of therapy. Where online work is not appropriate, we will say so rather than trying to force the format.
Because the service is remote, clients do not need to live near London to enquire.
We work online with clients in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry, Southampton, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge, Reading, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham, Belfast and Derry/Londonderry, as well as towns and rural areas throughout the UK.
Not always. Therapy can begin from an identified pattern of needs where the work is within scope. If assessment is more appropriate than therapy, that can be discussed before ongoing sessions begin.

No. Focused Care Psychology is a private service. Clients may choose to share relevant reports or recommendations with NHS clinicians where appropriate.
This is not an emergency or crisis service. If there is an immediate risk of harm, use emergency services or an appropriate urgent mental health pathway in your area.
