Check who will assess and sign the report, the professional registration appropriate to the work, how developmental history and functional impact are assessed, whether information from another person or setting is needed, how alternative explanations are considered, what feedback and report are included, and whether the report fits its intended purpose.

How those prices compare with published UK market data
A July 2026 review of published prices from 332 private ADHD clinics reported a median adult ADHD assessment price of £995 across 161 clinics and a median combined ADHD/autism price of £2,600 across 50 clinics. Focused Care Psychology’s published £650 ADHD fee and £1,750 combined fee are below those reported medians. The study also shows a very wide price range, so cost should be compared alongside scope and clinician model.

NHS and private assessment
Private assessment and NHS pathways are not automatically interchangeable. Public referral, commissioning, medication and follow-up arrangements differ across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
